South Bay Swim Team Big WIN at 2024 SCSL Summer Championship Meet

CONGRATULATIONS on a fantastic Summer Championship Meet!

SOBA earned over 4602 points at last weekend’s Summer Championship Meet, coming in 1^st Place overall - earning a nice Trophy. Congratulations!

These 47 Swimmers went “all in” and swam BOTH Days of Summer Champs: Ella, Juliet, Evelyn, Eleanor, Adalyn, Amanda, Raphael, Diana, Lexi, Elliot D, Fabi, Grace, Jonathan, Vincent, Avery, Sally, Tristan, Cassidy, Kenzie, Loyal, Jasleen, Ethan, Louden, Caden, Arabelle, Lydia, Kennedy, Kamila M-C, Charles, Siena M, Chloe, Sophia O, Melissa O-Z, Jackson, Josie P, Sasha, Siena Q, Jozie R, Kai, Sao, Charlee, Hana W, Sofia W, Kyoko, Elliot Y, and Evan – Way to Go!
   Special Thanks to Chloe who came a 2^nd day JUST for a relay – that’s teamwork!

Medals are awarded for 1^st-6^th Place finishes in individual AND relay events. And, points are awarded for finishes up to 16^th place – wow!

Nearly every swimmer who participated scored points for the team – this was truly a TEAM EFFORT! 
(At the team meeting, we had swimmers stand up if they had at least 1 best time – Congrats!!  Keep standing: 2    then 3    -then 4    -then 5…

SCSL High Point Award Winners:
At Championship Meets, SCSL awards a high point award for the swimmer who earned the most points in their individual events – up to 120 points (1^st place = 20 points, and up to 6 events). We had TWO Swimmers who earned the SCSL High Point Trophy for their Age Group – Congratulations To:
Boys 7-8:      Kai Sett  114 (4 x 1^st and 2 x 2^nd )
Boys 9-10:    Sao Sett  111 (3 x 1^st and 3 x 2^nd )

Other swimmers who earned lots of points include Adalyn Besemer 112 Points, Raphael 110 Points, Diana Calta 103 Points, Even Yeung 97 Points
The Team Trophy
After our ‘most time dropped’ achievers and our high point earners have had their time with the trophy, each swimmer will have the opportunity to take it home for a few days at a time. We’ll go in order of most time dropped (i.e. ‘best’ of the personal best times)

Relays at Champs
We don’t get to do relays often, so it’s really special when we have so many relay teams at champs meets! This year, we had a relay entered in almost every gender and age group – and in some cases, two relays per event. Relays are important to the team, because they earn DOUBLE points.

Relays are a unique group experience for swimmers. We tried to offer relay spots to as many swimmers as possible.
